अभिषेक-निवृत्ति-उपदेशः (Withdrawal of the Coronation: Rama’s Counsel to Lakshmana)

एतया तत्त्वया बुद्ध्या संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना।व्याहतेऽप्यभिषेके मे परितापो न विद्यते।।।।

etayā tattvayā buddhyā saṁstabhya ātmānam ātmanā |

vyāhate 'py abhiṣeke me paritāpo na vidyate ||

With this truth-grounded understanding I have steadied myself by my own resolve; and though my consecration has been thwarted, no grief is found in me.

Even though my consecration was thwarted, there is no feeling of sadness in me. In fact I controlled my mind by my intellect.

Abhisheka (coronation)

Dharma is inner governance: one must master the mind through right understanding (tattva-buddhi) so that duty is not derailed by disappointment.

Rama tells Lakshmana he is not grieving despite the coronation being blocked, because he has stabilized himself through clear discernment.

Sattva and vairāgya-like detachment: Rama’s calm shows moral strength rather than emotional numbness.
