Seeing his mother—one who deserved no such sorrow—fallen like a plantain tree and bereft of consciousness, Rāma lifted her up.

Seeing his mother who had done nothing to deserve (this) suffering and who had fallen down like a plantain tree, deprived of her senses, Rama raised her up (from the ground).

R
Rama
K
Kausalya
P
plantain tree (kadalī)

Dharma as care: even while bound to a harsh duty (exile), Rama immediately fulfills the duty of compassion and service to his mother.

Kausalya faints and falls; Rama, seeing her unconscious, raises her from the ground.

Karunā (compassion) and mātṛ-sevā (service to one’s mother).
