सुमन्त्रदर्शनम् तथा रामस्य राजदर्शनाय प्रस्थानम् (Sumantra Meets Rama; Rama Departs to See the King)

Surely your mother Kausalyā will rejoice, O delight of your mother, seeing you—your life’s course made fruitful—secure in your father’s kingdom.

On seeing (Sumantra) arriving, all of them, wellwishers to Rama, quickly rose from their seats.

Rama

paternal kingdom (pitrya rājyam)

The verse links dharma with rightful succession and filial legitimacy: a son established in the father’s kingdom is seen as the fulfillment of social and familial order.

Ayodhya’s women praise Rama as he passes, imagining Kausalyā’s joy at his secure standing in the paternal realm.

Rama as the ideal son and rightful heir—one whose life’s purpose is aligned with duty and kingship.
