Shloka 2.16.33

सुमन्त्रदर्शनम् तथा रामस्य राजदर्शनाय प्रस्थानम् (Sumantra Meets Rama; Rama Departs to See the King)

ततो हलहलाशब्दस्तुमुलस्समजायत।।।।तस्य निष्क्रममाणस्य जनौघस्य समन्ततः।

tato hayavarā mukhyā nāgāś ca girisannibhāḥ |

anujagmus tadā rāmaṃ śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ ||

Then the foremost leaders—mounted on excellent horses and on elephants huge as hills—followed Rāma, in hundreds and in thousands.

As it (the chariot) was passing out, a tumultuoas roar emanated from the multitude of people all around.
