सुमन्त्रदर्शनम् तथा रामस्य राजदर्शनाय प्रस्थानम् (Sumantra Meets Rama; Rama Departs to See the King)

लक्षयित्वा ह्यभिप्रायं प्रियकामा सुदक्षिणा।सञ्चोदयति राजानं मदर्थमसितेक्षणा।।।।

Transliteration

lakṣayitvā hy abhiprāyaṃ priyakāmā sudakṣiṇā |

sañcodayati rājānaṃ madartham asitekṣaṇā || 2.16.16 ||

Translation

“Having understood his intention, the dark-eyed queen—well-disposed and seeking what is dear—urges the king on my behalf.”

Darkeyed and highly favoured wellwisher of the king (Kaikeyi) is urging him for my sake in view of his intention.
