सत्यपाशः — Kaikeyi’s Demand and the Noose of the King’s Promise
पौरजानापदैश्चापि नैगमैश्च कृताञ्जलिः।स्वयं वशिष्ठो भगवान्ब्राह्मणै स्सह तिष्ठति।।।।
paurajānāpadaiś cāpi naigamaiś ca kṛtāñjaliḥ | svayaṃ vaśiṣṭho bhagavān brāhmaṇaiḥ saha tiṣṭhati ||
With hands folded in reverence, the townspeople and countryfolk—along with the merchants—stand waiting; and Vasiṣṭha himself, the revered sage, remains there with the brāhmaṇas.

Dharma is shown as collective social participation in rightful kingship: subjects, merchants, and priests uphold order by honoring the coronation rite and awaiting the king’s command.
Sumantra informs Daśaratha that the civic body and Vasiṣṭha with brāhmaṇas are assembled and waiting for the coronation proceedings.
Public reverence and disciplined civic conduct (kṛtāñjali): the community demonstrates respect for sacred and royal procedure.
