द्वादशः सर्गः — Kaikeyi’s Boons and Dasaratha’s Moral Collapse (Ayodhya Kanda 12)
शुद्धभावो हि भावं मे न तु ज्ञास्यति राघवः।।।।स वनं प्रब्रजे त्युक्तो बाढ मित्येव वक्षयति।
śuddhabhāvo hi bhāvaṃ me na tu jñāsyati rāghavaḥ | sa vanaṃ prabraje ty ukto bāḍhaṃ ity eva vakṣyati |
Rāghava, pure in heart, will not discern my inner intention; when told, “Go into the forest,” he will only say, “So be it.”
The descendant of the Raghus (Rama) who is pure in thought will not come to know my intention. Therefore if I tell him 'Go to the forest,' he will say, 'Certainly so'.
Purity of intention and trust within family relationships: Rāma’s dharmic disposition makes him accept commands without suspicion or manipulation.
Daśaratha laments that Rāma will not realize the hidden coercion behind the exile order and will comply straightforwardly.
Rāma’s śuddha-bhāva (purity of mind) and trusting obedience.
