अत्र्याश्रमगमनम् तथा अनसूयोपदेशः (Arrival at Atri’s Hermitage and Anasuya’s Counsel)
अभिवाद्य च वैदेही तापसीं तामनिन्दिताम्।बद्धाञ्जलिपुटा हृष्टा पर्यपृच्छदनामयम्।।।।
tāṃ tu sītā mahābhāgām anasūyāṃ pativratām |
abhyavādayad avyagrā svaṃ nāma samudāharat ||
Then Sītā, unhurried and attentive, saluted the greatly blessed and chaste Anasūyā, announcing her own name.
Sita offered her obeisance to the blameless ascetic, Anasuya, folding her palms and enquired of her well-being in delight.
Dharma is expressed through respectful self-introduction and proper salutation to elders and ascetics; truthfulness (satya) appears in openly stating one’s identity without pride.
Sītā formally greets Anasūyā, performing the culturally appropriate act of homage and announcing who she is.
Sītā’s modesty and composure (avyagratā), and her reverence for a renowned pativratā.
