गुणप्रशंसा–युवराजनिर्णयः (Praise of Rama’s Virtues and the Decision on the Heir-Apparent)
अप्रधृष्यश्च सङ्ग्रामे क्रुध्दैरपि सुरासुरैः।अनसूयो जितक्रोधो न दृप्तो न च मत्सरी।न चावमन्ता भूतानां न च कालवशानुगः।।।।।
apradhṛṣyaś ca saṅgrāme kruddhair api surāsuraiḥ | anasūyo jitakrodho na dṛpto na ca matsarī | na cāvamantā bhūtānāṃ na ca kālavaśānugaḥ ||
In battle he was unassailable even to enraged devas and asuras. Free from envy, having conquered anger, he was neither arrogant nor malicious; he despised no being, nor did he yield to the pressure of time.
He was incapable of being repressed even by the enraged devatas or rakshasas in the battle. He was free from envy and had subdued his anger and pride. He was never malicious and he never slighted any living being nor did he bow to the pressure of time.
True strength is inseparable from inner restraint: dharma is shown as non-envy, control of anger, humility, and respect toward all beings.
The narration deepens the portrait of Rāma by pairing martial invincibility with moral virtues and emotional discipline.
Self-mastery (jitakrodha) and universal respect: he does not slight living beings despite great power.
