गुणप्रशंसा–युवराजनिर्णयः (Praise of Rama’s Virtues and the Decision on the Heir-Apparent)
गच्छता मातुलकुलं भरतेन तदाऽनघ।शत्रुघ्नो नित्यशत्रुघ्नो नीतः प्रीतिपुरस्कृतः।।।।
gacchatā mātula-kulaṃ bharatena tadā, anagha | śatrughno nitya-śatrughno nītaḥ prīti-puraskṛtaḥ ||
When Bharata set out then for his maternal uncle’s house, O sinless one, he took with him Śatrughna—ever a slayer of foes—going forth in the spirit of affection.
Bharata set out for his maternal uncle's house. He took with him the sinless Satrughna who is always successful in destroying foes and on whom he had bestowed his love and affection.
Dharma as familial duty and affection: relationships among brothers are sustained through care, companionship, and mutual support.
Bharata departs from Ayodhyā toward his maternal relatives, taking Śatrughna with him.
Brotherly affection and loyalty—Bharata’s love is shown by keeping Śatrughna close.
