“O Kakutstha, Indra—the king of the devas, Śatakratu—came here to me. Approaching, that great Lord of the gods declared: ‘By my meritorious deeds I have won all the worlds.’”

O scion of the Kakutstha family, Indra, king of the gods came to me and said that by my meritorious deeds I have won all the worlds.

Karma and puṇya as moral causality: righteous action yields spiritual attainment; the verse frames ‘winning worlds’ as the fruit of merit rather than mere power.

A sage recounts a prior divine visitation: Indra came and spoke about the results of meritorious deeds, within the hermitage-setting of Aranyakanda Sarga 7.

Puṇya-karman (meritorious conduct) and satya-vacana (truthful declaration): the teaching highlights ethical action as the basis of higher attainments.
