जटायुनिर्वाणसंस्कारः — Jatayu’s Final Testimony and Funeral Rites
असम्मूढस्य गृध्रस्य रामं प्रत्यनुभाषतः।।।।आस्यात्सुस्राव रुधिरं म्रियमाणस्य सामिषम्।
asammūḍhasya gṛdhrasya rāmaṃ pratyanubhāṣataḥ |
āsyāt susrāva rudhiraṃ mriyamāṇasya sāmiṣam ||
As the dying vulture, remaining clear-minded, spoke to Rama, blood mixed with flesh flowed from his mouth.
As he(Jatayu) was speaking to Rama with an alert mind even while dying, blood mixed with flesh started oozing from Jatayu's mouth.
Clarity and truth at the edge of death: the righteous mind remains oriented to duty and truthfulness even when the body collapses.
