सीताहरणोत्तरं लङ्काप्रवेशः — Sita’s Abduction and Ravana’s Entry into Lanka
ततस्तु सीतामुपलभ्य रावणः सुसम्प्रहृष्टः परिगृह्य मैथिलीम्।प्रसज्य रामेण च वैरमुत्तमं बभूव मोहान्मुदितस्सराक्षसः।।।।
sa ca pampām atikramya laṅkām abhimukhaḥ purīm |
jagāma rudatīṃ gṛhya vaidehīṃ rākṣaseśvaraḥ ||
Crossing Lake Pampā, the lord of the rākṣasas went toward the city of Laṅkā, bearing Vaidehī as she wept.
Then the demon Ravana felt greatly happy for getting Sita, princess of Mithila, without knowing in his delusion that he had created the bitterest enmity with Rama.ইত্যার্ষে শ্রীমদ্রামাযণে বামলীকীযে আদিকাব্যে অরণ্যকাণ্ডে চতুঃপঞ্চাশস্সর্গঃ৷৷Thus ends the fiftyfourth sarga of Aranyakanda of the holy Ramayana the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
Adharma is shown as coercion and violation of another’s autonomy; dharma stands opposed to power used without righteousness.
Rāvaṇa flies toward Laṅkā after passing Pampā, forcibly taking Sītā who is crying.
Sītā’s steadfastness—her tears and cries underscore refusal to consent to wrongdoing and fidelity to truth.
