Shloka 3.46.1

रावणस्य परिव्राजकवेषेण सीतासमीपगमनम् (Ravana Approaches Sita Disguised as a Mendicant)

तया परुषमुक्तस्तु कुपितो राघवानुजः।स विकाङ्क्षन्भृशं रामं प्रतस्थे नचिरादिव।।।।

tayā paruṣam uktaḥ tu kupito rāghavānujaḥ | sa vikāṅkṣan bhṛśaṃ rāmaṃ pratasthē na cirād iva || 3.46.1 ||

Stung by her harsh words, Rāghava’s younger brother grew angry; yet, deeply anxious for Rāma, he set out at once without delay.

Lakshmana, brother of Rama, hurt by the harsh words of Sita, hastened with Rama's well-being in mind.

Dharma is prioritizing duty over wounded pride: though angered by Sītā’s harshness, Lakṣmaṇa acts for Rāma’s safety, placing obligation above emotion.

After Sītā’s sharp reproach, Lakṣmaṇa leaves the hut to seek Rāma, driven by concern that something has happened to him.

Loyalty and service (sevā-bhāva): Lakṣmaṇa’s foremost impulse is Rāma’s welfare.
