Dilīpa said: “O knower of the true purport of the Vedas and their auxiliaries (Vedāṅgas), revered by all the worlds—indeed I consider my purpose fulfilled, since I have beheld the Lord.”
King Dilīpa
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Sandhi Resolution Notes: कृतमित्येव = कृतम् इति एव; यदहं = यत् अहम्; दृष्टवान्प्रभुम् = दृष्टवान् प्रभुम्.
King Dilīpa is speaking, expressing gratitude and fulfillment, saying his life’s purpose feels accomplished because he has obtained the Lord’s darśana.
It indicates the addressee is deeply learned—one who understands not only the Vedas but also the Vedāṅgas (auxiliary disciplines) and their essential meaning, implying both scholarship and spiritual insight.
It emphasizes humility and the primacy of direct spiritual vision (darśana) over mere achievement—true fulfillment is portrayed as encountering the Divine, not simply worldly success.
