Procedure for the Worship of Hari (Purity, Preparation, Pūjā Sequence, and Prasāda Theology)

This chapter sets forth a Vaiṣṇava morning worship protocol: rising early, observing rules for evacuation and śauca, cleansing properly with earth and water, and purifying teeth and tongue under strict limits of time and method. The devotee then discards night-clothes, remembers Nārāyaṇa, and performs awakening and service gestures toward Kṛṣṇa together with Lakṣmī. Temple-sevā follows—removing stale remnants, sweeping, and plastering with clay and cow-dung—praised as highly meritorious. The text details purification of vessels and implements, bathing etiquette, entering the shrine with washed feet, proper seat and direction, bathing the Deity (especially with conch and tulasī), then dikbandhana, saṅkalpa, nyāsa, meditation on Kṛṣṇa, upacāras, mantra-japa, naivedya, and circumambulation with prostration. It concludes with prasāda doctrine: nirmālya, tulasī fragrance, Viṣṇupādodaka, and naivedya destroy sins; yet devotion (bhakti) is declared the decisive factor in the fruit of worship.
