May all the departed ancestors be fully satisfied in every way by the piṇḍa (funeral offering) given by me. First, the rite should be performed at the Pañcatīrthas; and in the northern region, the prescribed procedure is to be done at Mānasa.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada the tīrtha-vidhi in Uttara-Bhāga)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It frames piṇḍa-dāna as an intentional act of Pitṛ-satisfaction and links the fruit of the offering to correct tīrtha-selection and proper vidhi (procedure).
While primarily ritual-focused, it reflects bhakti through reverent intention—offering with a prayerful resolve that the act benefits others (the Pitṛs) and is done in sacred places as prescribed.
It highlights Kalpa (ritual procedure) through the term vidhi and the sequencing of rites by place (first Pañcatīrthas, then Mānas in the north), emphasizing correct ordinance in śrāddha-related practice.
