I have now fully explained to you the duties to be performed on the second day—acts such as bathing, offerings of water (tarpaṇa), the offering and worship of piṇḍas, and other related rites, which bring comfort and satisfaction to the Pitṛs (ancestors).
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames second-day śrāddha duties—snāna, tarpaṇa, and piṇḍa-offering—as acts that directly generate pitṛ-saukhyam (contentment of the ancestors), emphasizing continuity of dharma through ancestral rites.
While primarily ritual-focused, it supports bhakti indirectly by teaching reverential duty (seva) through prescribed karma; honoring Pitṛs is treated as a dharmic expression aligned with a devotee’s disciplined life.
It highlights kalpa-style ritual procedure—sequencing of śrāddha acts like snāna, tarpaṇa, and piṇḍārcā—reflecting applied Vedic ritual science (Kalpa/Vedāṅga orientation).
