The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
viddhaṃ tvayaikādaśikāvrataṃ ye kurvaṃti kartāra iha prayatnāt | teṣāṃ bhavedyatsukṛtaṃ śubhe phalaṃ bhuṃkṣva prasannā bhava bhūsure tvam || 18 ||
O auspicious one, those who, with earnest effort, observe the Ekādaśī vow as taught by you—whatever meritorious and blessed fruit arises from that good deed, accept it and partake of it in joy; be gracious and well-disposed toward that brāhmaṇa.
Narada (in instruction/blessing style within Uttara-Bhaga vrata/tirtha narrative)
Vrata: Ekādaśī
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It affirms Ekādaśī as a potent vrata whose merit yields auspicious results, and it frames that merit as something divinely acknowledged—encouraging sincere observance and reverence toward brāhmaṇas.
By centering on Ekādaśī-vrata—traditionally dedicated to Hari/Vishnu—it presents disciplined fasting and vow-keeping as a practical expression of devotion that ripens into śubha-phala (auspicious spiritual benefit).
Ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented vrata practice) is emphasized: performing the Ekādaśī observance with prayatna (careful effort) to obtain sukṛta and its phala.
