The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
तदंतस्त्वं व्रते प्राप्ता लभस्वैकादशीफलम् । यः कश्चित्कुरुते विद्धं त्वया ह्येकादशीव्रतम् ॥ १२ ॥
tadaṃtastvaṃ vrate prāptā labhasvaikādaśīphalam | yaḥ kaścitkurute viddhaṃ tvayā hyekādaśīvratam || 12 ||
Therefore, upon the completion of this vow, you shall obtain the fruit of Ekādaśī. And know that whoever performs this Ekādaśī-vrata as taught by you will indeed gain its merit.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in dialogue context)
Vrata: Ekadashi-vrata
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It emphasizes that the Ekādaśī-vrata yields a definite, attainable spiritual merit (phala), and that transmitting the correct procedure allows others to share in that sacred benefit.
By centering the vow’s “fruit” on faithful observance of Ekādaśī, it points to disciplined devotion—regular, rule-based worship and restraint—as a practical expression of Viṣṇu-bhakti.
It highlights ritual discipline (kalpa-like procedural correctness): performing the vrata “as taught” (proper method, timing, and rules) is presented as essential for obtaining the stated phala.
