The Description of Mārkaṇḍeya
तस्य दर्शयितुं विप्रास्तं न संहृतवान्हरिः । मृकण्डुतनयो धीमान्विष्णुभक्तिसमन्वितः ॥ १९ ॥
tasya darśayituṃ viprāstaṃ na saṃhṛtavānhariḥ | mṛkaṇḍutanayo dhīmānviṣṇubhaktisamanvitaḥ || 19 ||
O brāhmaṇas, Hari did not withdraw him from the world, so that he might be shown as an example. He was the wise son of Mṛkaṇḍu, endowed with devotion to Viṣṇu.
