Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture
वृक्षस्यैवङ्गताः शाखास्तथैवञ्चापरी गताः ।
नताश्चैवोन्नताश्चैव तद्वच्छाखाः प्रचक्रिरे ॥
vṛkṣasyaivaṅgatāḥ śākhās tathaivañ cāparī gatāḥ / natāś caivonnatāś caiva tadvacchākhāḥ pracakrire
Just as some branches of a tree go in one direction and others go differently—some bending down and others rising up—so they fashioned the branches as structural elements in that very manner.
