Arjuna–Karna Engagement in the Cattle-Raid Aftermath
अकृतास्त्र: कृतास्त्रं वै बलवन्तं सुदुर्बल: । तादृशं कर्ण यः पार्थ योद्धुमिच्छेत् स दुर्मति:
akṛtāstraḥ kṛtāstraṃ vai balavantaṃ sudurbalaḥ | tādṛśaṃ karṇa yaḥ pārtha yoddhum icchet sa durmatiḥ ||
Kripa said: “A man untrained in weapons, though exceedingly weak, who nevertheless wishes to fight a fully trained and mighty warrior like Arjuna—the son of Kunti—must be regarded as one whose judgment has been ruined. Such a challenge is not courage but delusion, for it ignores both skill and the ethical prudence required in war.”
