Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 33 — Kuru Cattle-Raid and Matsya Mobilization (भूमिंजय-प्रेरणा)
सुशर्मापि सुसंरब्धस्त्वरमाणो युधिष्िरम्
suśarmāpi susaṁrabdhas tvaramāṇo yudhiṣṭhiram
Vaiśampāyana said: Suśarmā too, inflamed with fierce anger, hurried toward Yudhiṣṭhira—driven by hostility and the urgency of battle, intent on confronting him directly.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Unchecked anger (krodha) propels one into rash action; the verse highlights how agitation and haste can drive conflict, contrasting impulsive aggression with the steadiness expected of dharmic leadership.
In the Virāṭa episode’s battle context, Suśarmā—furious and impatient—moves quickly to engage Yudhiṣṭhira, signaling an escalation toward direct confrontation.
