अगस्त्यस्य वित्तयाचनं तथा इल्वलोपभिक्षणनिर्णयः

Agastya’s request for wealth and the decision to seek resources from Ilvala

लोगश उवाच इल्वलो नाम दैतेय आसीत्‌ कौरवनन्दन । मणिमत्यां पुरि पुरा वातापिस्तस्य चानुज:,लोमशजीने कहा--कौरवनन्दन! पूर्वकालकी बात है, इस मणिमती नगरीमें इल्वल नामक दैत्य रहता था। वातापि उसीका छोटा भाई था

Transliteration

lomaśa uvāca | ilvalo nāma daiteya āsīt kauravanandana | maṇimatyāṃ puri purā vātāpis tasya cānujāḥ ||

Translation

Lomaśa said: “O delight of the Kuru line, long ago in the city of Maṇimatī there lived a Daitya named Ilvala. Vātāpi was his younger brother.”
