युक्त तस्याप्रमेयस्य वीर्यसत्त्ववतो मया । समाश्चासयितुं भार्या पतिदर्शनलालसाम्,राजा नलका पराक्रम और धैर्य असीम है। उनकी यह पत्नी पतिदर्शनके लिये लालायित और उत्कण्ठित है, अतः मुझे इससे मिलकर इसे आश्वासन देना चाहिये
yuktaṃ tasyāprameyasya vīryasattvavato mayā | samāśvāsayituṃ bhāryāṃ patidarśanalālasām ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “It is fitting for me to go to that immeasurable king, endowed with valor and steadfastness, and to reassure his wife, who longs intensely for the sight of her husband.”
युदेव उवाच
A ruler guided by dharma responds to others’ suffering with timely compassion: recognizing steadfast virtue in another (Nala) and addressing the immediate human need (Damayantī’s anxious longing) through reassurance and supportive speech.
Yudhiṣṭhira reflects that it is appropriate for him to approach the great King Nala and, in particular, to meet and console Nala’s wife, who is distressed and eager to see her husband, thereby offering her assurance.
