Then the king, steadfast in truth, quickly saw Vidura approaching from nearby. Turning to his brother Bhīmasena, he said, “What, I wonder, will the chamberlain (Vidura) tell us when he comes to meet us?”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of satyasaṃdha—steadfast commitment to truth—while portraying the proper role of wise counsel in governance: a righteous king anticipates guidance and weighs words before action.
Yudhiṣṭhira notices Vidura approaching quickly from nearby and, sensing the importance of his arrival, asks Bhīma what message Vidura (the court chamberlain and counselor) might bring when they meet.
