Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

इत्येवं चिन्तयानस्य पार्थस्यामिततेजस: । ततो वैदूर्यवर्णाभो भासयन्‌ सर्वतो दिश: । यादोगणवृत: श्रीमानाजगाम जलेश्वर:,इस प्रकार चिन्तन करते हुए अमित तेजस्वी कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनके पास जलके स्वामी श्रीमान्‌ वरुणदेव जल-जन्तुओंसे घिरे हुए आ पहुँचे। उनकी अंगकान्ति वैदूर्यमणिके समान थी और वे सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको प्रकाशित कर रहे थे

ity evaṁ cintayānasya pārthasyāmitatejasaḥ | tato vaidūryavarṇābho bhāsayan sarvato diśaḥ | yādogaṇavṛtaḥ śrīmān ājagāma jaleśvaraḥ ||

As Pārtha (Arjuna), of immeasurable splendor, continued reflecting in this way, the lord of the waters—Varuṇa—arrived before him, surrounded by hosts of aquatic beings. Radiant like the blue vaidūrya gem, he illuminated all directions.
