“O subduer of foes, a very great task for the gods must be accomplished by you. O mighty one, make yourself ready—you are to ascend to heaven.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames personal effort as service to a higher, divinely aligned duty: when a righteous mission is entrusted, one should prepare oneself and accept the call, even if it leads beyond ordinary human experience (here, ascent to Svarga).
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that a hero addressed as “ariṁdama/mahādyuti” is being instructed that the gods have a major work to be accomplished through him, and that he must ready himself to go to Svarga.
