Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

ततो<ब्रवीद्‌ देवराज: पार्थमक्लिष्टकारिणम्‌ । सान्त्वयःश्लक्ष्णया वाचा मेघदुन्दुभिनि:स्वन:,तदनन्तर देवराज इन्द्रने अनायास ही महान्‌ कर्म करनेवाले कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनको मीठे वचनोंद्वारा सान्त्वना देते हुए मेघ और दुन्दुभिके समान गम्भीर स्वरसे कहा--

Then the lord of the gods, Indra—his voice deep as thunderclouds and the dundubhi drum—spoke to Pārtha, Arjuna, doer of mighty deeds without strain, soothing him with gentle words.
