Sūrya-stava: Dhaumya’s Counsel and the Aṣṭaśata-nāma of Sūrya
गुहाया: पितृगणा: सप्त ये दिव्या ये च मानुषा: । ते पूजयित्वा त्वामेव गच्छन्त्याशु प्रधानताम्,श्रेष्ठ विद्याधरगण दिव्य मन्दार-कुसुमोंकी मालाओंसे आपकी पूजा करके सफलमनोरथ हो तुरंत आपके समीप पहुँच जाते हैं। गुह्यक, सातः प्रकारके पितृगण तथा दिव्य मानव (सनकादि) आपकी ही पूजा करके श्रेष्ठ पदको प्राप्त करते हैं। वसुगण, मरुदगण, रुद्र, साध्य तथा आपकी किरणोंका पान करनेवाले वालखिल्य आदि सिद्ध महर्षि आपकी ही आराधनासे सब प्राणियोंमें श्रेष्ठ हुए हैं
guhāyāḥ pitṛgaṇāḥ sapta ye divyā ye ca mānuṣāḥ | te pūjayitvā tvām eva gacchanty āśu pradhānatām ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “The seven classes of Pitṛs—whether divine or human—worship you alone, and by that worship they swiftly attain preeminence. Thus, all those venerable orders who honor you reach the highest station.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse emphasizes that sincere worship and reverence toward the supreme object of praise leads to swift spiritual elevation and foremost status, even for exalted cosmic classes like the Pitṛs and Guhyakas.
Yudhiṣṭhira is offering a hymn-like statement, describing how various revered beings attain eminence by worshipping the addressed deity/being, thereby magnifying that figure’s supremacy and worthiness of devotion.
