Sūrya-stava: Dhaumya’s Counsel and the Aṣṭaśata-nāma of Sūrya
सुरगणपितृयक्षसेवितं हासुरनिशाचरसिद्धवन्दितम् । वरकनकहुताशनप्रभं प्रणिपतितो5स्मि हिताय भास्करम्,(इन नामोंका उच्चारण करके भगवान् सूर्यको इस प्रकार नमस्कार करना चाहिये।) समस्त देवता, पितर और यक्ष जिनकी सेवा करते हैं, असुर, राक्षस तथा सिद्ध जिनकी वन्दना करते हैं तथा जो उत्तम सुवर्ण और अग्निके समान कान्तिमान् हैं, उन भगवान् भास्करको मैं अपने हितके लिये प्रणाम करता हूँ
suragaṇapitṛyakṣasevitaṃ hāsuraniśācarasiddhavanditam | varakanakahutāśanaprabhaṃ praṇipatito ’smi hitāya bhāskaram ||
Dhaumya said: “For my own welfare I bow to Bhāskara, the Sun—served by the hosts of gods, the Pitṛs, and the Yakṣas; praised even by Asuras, night-roaming Rākṣasas, and Siddhas; radiant like finest gold and like blazing fire.”
