Mārkaṇḍeya said: Rāma began to shower volleys of arrows, like a rain-cloud pouring down water. Reaching Laṅkā, those arrows struck down the night-roaming rākṣasas who stood there, taking their lives.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights controlled strength used in the service of dharma: force is portrayed as disciplined and goal-directed—aimed at stopping harmful aggressors—rather than as indiscriminate violence.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Rāma in battle: he releases dense volleys of arrows like a rain-cloud, and the arrows reach Laṅkā and kill the rākṣasas stationed there.
