Sāvitrī-Upākhyāna: Dyumatsena’s Restoration and the Return to Kāmyaka

Conclusion

gatiṃ ca mukhavarṇaṃ ca dṛṣṭvā rāmo hanūmataḥ | agamat pratyayaṃ bhūyo dṛṣṭā sīteti bhārata yudhiṣṭhira ||

Markandeya said: Seeing Hanuman’s gait and the radiance of his face, Rama became firmly convinced once again: “Sita has indeed been seen.” O Bharata’s heir, O Yudhishthira—Rama read the truth of Hanuman’s success from unmistakable signs of inner certainty and duty fulfilled, where outward composure reflects faithful service and truthful speech.

Educational Q&A

True service and truthful accomplishment manifest outwardly as clarity, confidence, and composure; a righteous leader learns to recognize such signs and place trust appropriately, strengthening dharma through discerning faith rather than suspicion.

Markandeya narrates to Yudhishthira that Rama, observing Hanuman’s confident gait and radiant face upon his return, becomes convinced that Hanuman has successfully found Sita, renewing hope and confirming the messenger’s report even before detailed words are spoken.
