Sāvitrī’s Report and Nārada’s Prognosis (सावित्र्याख्यान—सत्यवान्-गुणवर्णनं तथा अल्पायुषः पूर्वसूचना)
स निश्चित्य ततः कृत्यं स्वसारमुपसान्त्व्य च | ऊर्ध्वमाचक्रमे राजा विधाय नगरे विधिम्
sa niścitya tataḥ kṛtyaṃ svasāram upasāntvya ca | ūrdhvam ācakrame rājā vidhāya nagare vidhim ||
Having thus resolved upon the course of action to be undertaken, the king consoled his sister; and after arranging the necessary regulations and defenses within the city, he set out upward, taking to the aerial route.
(श्रीरम उवाच
Resolve (niścaya) should be paired with responsibility: a ruler does not rush toward a goal without first ensuring order, protection, and proper arrangements for those dependent on him, including family and the city.
The king decides on his intended action, consoles his sister, organizes the city’s regulations/defenses, and then departs upward by an aerial path.
