द्रौपदी-शैब्यसंवादः — Draupadī’s Identification and Counsel on Hospitality
विषण्णास्तव सोदर्यस्त्वियि प्रायं समास्थिते । (तदलं दुःखितानेतान् कर्तु सर्वान् नराधिप ।।) उत्तिष्ठ ब्रज भद्रं ते समाश्वासय सोदरान्,“राजन! तुम आमरण उपवासका व्रत लेकर बैठे हो और इधर तुम्हारे सगे भाई शोक एवं विषादमें डूबे हुए हैं। बस, इन सबको दुःखी करनेसे कोई लाभ नहीं है। तुम्हारा भला हो। उठो, चलो और अपने भाइयोंको आश्वासन दो”
vaiśampāyana uvāca | viṣaṇṇās tava sodaryās tvayi prāyaṃ samāsthite | tad alaṃ duḥkhitān etān kartuṃ sarvān narādhipa || uttiṣṭha vraja bhadraṃ te samāśvāsaya sodarān ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “Your own brothers have sunk into grief and despondency because you have resolved upon a fast unto death. Enough—there is no gain in making them all suffer, O king. May good be yours. Rise, go, and give your brothers reassurance.”
