Indra approaches Skanda; vajra strike and the arising of Viśākha
Mārkaṇḍeya said: “A devoted wife—ever intent on serving her husband, self-controlled, and steadfast in truth and good conduct—has sent you here with this message: ‘Go to Mithilā. There lives a hunter by trade; he will expound to you the principles of dharma, O brāhmaṇa.’”
Dharma is recognized through conduct—devoted service, self-restraint, and truthfulness—and true moral insight may come from unexpected sources, even a hunter by profession.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports that a devoted wife has directed the brāhmaṇa to travel to Mithilā, where a hunter lives who will instruct him in dharma.
