“Thus a man becomes sinful at heart. Now listen to me about how one gains dharma. The person who, through discernment, foresees these faults beforehand—faults bound up with the pursuit and analysis of pleasure and pain—withdraws from them, seeks the company of the noble, and through that elevating association his understanding becomes established in dharma.”
