त॑ भार्या प्रत्युवाचाथ धर्ममेवानुतन्वती । वैन्यं गत्वा महात्मानमर्थयस्व धनं बहु,अत्रिकी पत्नी भी धर्मका ही अनुसरण करनेवाली थी। उसने यज्ञ-यागादिके रूपमें धर्मके ही विस्तारपर दृष्टि रखकर पतिको उत्तर दिया--'प्राणनाथ! आप धर्मात्मा राजा वैन्यके पास जाकर अधिक धनकी याचना कीजिये

tāṁ bhāryā pratyuvācātha dharmam evānutanvatī | vainyaṁ gatvā mahātmānam arthayasva dhanaṁ bahu ||

Then his wife—ever intent on upholding and extending dharma—replied: “Go to the great-souled King Vainya and request abundant wealth.” She urged the seeking of means not for indulgence, but to support righteous duties and sacred works.
