Adhyāya 168: Arjuna’s counters to māyā-rains and the onset of darkness

ततो गिरिमिवात्यर्थमावृणोन्मां महाशरै: । तं॑ चाहं शरवर्षेण महता समवाकिरम्
tato girim ivātyartham āvṛṇon māṃ mahāśaraiḥ | taṃ cāhaṃ śaravarṣeṇa mahatā samavākiram ||
Then he covered me completely with great arrows, as though a mountain were being shrouded by a torrential downpour. In response, I too overwhelmed him on every side with a mighty rain of arrows—meeting force with force in the heat of combat.
