अर्चिता: सतत देवा: पुष्पैरद्धि: सदा च वः । यथालब्धैर्मूलफलै: पितरश्नापि तर्पिता:,“हमने सदा फूल और जलसे देवताओंकी पूजा की है और यथाप्राप्त फल-मूलसे पितरोंको भी तृप्त किया है

arcitāḥ satataṁ devāḥ puṣpair addhiḥ sadā ca vaḥ | yathālabdhair mūlaphalaiḥ pitaraś cāpi tarpitāḥ |

Vaiśampāyana said: “We have continually worshipped the gods with flowers and with water, and we have also satisfied the ancestors (pitṛs) with whatever roots and fruits were available. Thus, with simple offerings—without excess or harm—we have upheld the duties of reverence and gratitude.”
