Vaiśampāyana said: “This is the sacred abode of Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera), a holy region frequented by perfected beings. O Bhīma, how are we to proceed and gain entry here? Let a means be devised—think of the right course to take.”
Even when pursuing a goal, one should approach sacred or divine domains with restraint and discernment—seeking a proper means rather than forcing entry. The verse highlights prudence and reverence as aspects of dharma.
The speaker identifies the place as Kubera’s holy residence, frequented by Siddhas, and asks Bhīma to consider how they can proceed and what method or plan will allow them to enter appropriately.
