Educational Q&A

Gifts such as divine boons can become spiritually dangerous when they feed darpa (arrogance). Intelligence without humility, and power without restraint, leads to adharma—here shown by contempt toward ṛṣis, who embody discipline, learning, and moral authority.

Bharadvāja narrates that a son named Medhāvī is born. Though intelligent, he is quick to anger. After hearing of a divine boon regarding his lifespan, he becomes proud and begins to insult and disregard the sages.
