यवक्रीत उवाच नायं शक्‍्यस्त्वया बद्धुं महानोघस्तपोधन । अशक्याद विनिवर्तस्व शक्‍्यमर्थ समारभ,यवक्रीतने कहा--तपोधन! यहाँ अगाध जलराशि भरी है; अतः तुम पुल बाँधनेमें सफल नहीं हो सकोगे। इसलिये इस असम्भव कार्यसे मुँह मोड़ लो और ऐसे कार्यमें हाथ डालो जो तुमसे हो सके

Translation

Yavakrīta said: “O tapodhana, this place is filled with deep, unfathomable waters; you cannot succeed in binding a bridge here. Therefore turn back from this impossible task, and undertake what can be done.”
