Educational Q&A

Even in adversity, a ruler should uphold dharma through satkāra—honouring and serving the virtuous, especially ascetics and sages. Respect for spiritual discipline is presented as a hallmark of righteous kingship.

After staying one night at that place, Yudhiṣṭhira, accompanied by his brothers, receives the forest ascetics with great honour and hospitality, as Vaiśampāyana narrates to King Janamejaya.
