गङ्गाधारणम् (Gaṅgādhāraṇa) — Śiva Bears the Descent of Gaṅgā

स करिष्यति ते काम॑ पितृणां हितकाम्यया | (तपसा<55राधित: शम्भुर्भगवॉल्लोकभावन: ।) “विश्वभावन भगवान्‌ शंकर तपस्याद्वारा आराधना करनेपर तुम्हारे पितरोंके हितकी इच्छासे अवश्य तुम्हारा मनोरथ पूर्ण करेंगे”

sa kariṣyati te kāmaṃ pitṝṇāṃ hitakāmyayā | (tapasā ārādhitaḥ śambhur bhagavān lokabhāvanaḥ) |

He will surely fulfill your wish, for you seek the welfare of your forefathers. Śambhu—Lord Śaṅkara, the blessed sustainer of the worlds—when propitiated through austerity, grants the desired boon, especially when the intent is righteous and aimed at ancestral good.
