Educational Q&A

The verse models dhārmic learning through humility and sustained inquiry: a righteous king seeks detailed knowledge of a sage’s conduct (karma) to understand and emulate exemplary virtue.

Within the Vana Parva’s dialogue frame, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a Brahmin sage and requests a fuller, repeated narration of the wise seer Agastya’s deeds, setting up an extended account of Agastya’s life and actions.
