कुरुसभायां केशवागमन-सत्कारविधानम् / Preparations to Honor Keśava at the Kuru Court
दारुको5पि हयान् मुक्त्वा परिचर्य च शास्त्रत: । मुमोच सर्वयोक्त्रादि मुक्त्वा चैतानवासृजत्
dāruko 'pi hayān muktvā paricarya ca śāstrataḥ | mumoca sarvayoktrādi muktvā caitān avāsṛjat ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Dāruka too, after unharnessing the horses and tending to them according to prescribed rule, removed all their harness and gear; then, freeing them from every strap and restraint, he let them go.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in tense or transitional moments, one should uphold dharma through disciplined, rule-guided care—especially toward dependent beings like animals—showing compassion expressed as proper service rather than neglect.
Dāruka unharnesses the horses, tends to them in the prescribed manner, removes their gear, and then releases them from all restraints, letting them go free.
