As he proceeded along the road, many women came out to meet that great-souled Śrī Kṛṣṇa—ever devoted to the welfare of all beings—and showered him with fragrant wild flowers. The scene underscores public reverence for a leader whose power is framed not as domination but as beneficence and universal goodwill.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical ideal of leadership: true greatness is marked by being 'sarvabhūta-hite rata'—actively devoted to the welfare of all beings. Social honor (flower-showering) is presented as a response to virtue and beneficence rather than mere power.
During Kṛṣṇa’s journey in the Udyoga Parva context, women gather along the road to greet him and shower him with fragrant forest flowers, expressing public devotion and respect for his benevolent stature.
