उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ८१: कृष्णस्य दूतप्रयाणम्
Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
इति श्रीमहाभारते उद्योगपर्वणि भगवद्यानपर्वणि द्रौपदीकृष्णसंवादे दयशीतितमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate udyogaparvaṇi bhagavadyānaparvaṇi draupadīkṛṣṇasaṃvāde dyaśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the eighty-second chapter in the Udyoga Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the section concerning the Blessed Lord’s embassy, in the dialogue between Draupadī and Kṛṣṇa. This colophon marks the close of the chapter, framing the foregoing exchange as part of Kṛṣṇa’s peace-mission narrative and its ethical deliberations on justice, restraint, and the impending war.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse itself does not add new instruction; it frames the preceding Draupadī–Kṛṣṇa dialogue within Kṛṣṇa’s embassy narrative, highlighting that ethical reflection on dharma, justice, and restraint is integral to the lead-up to war.
The narrator signals the formal close of the chapter: the text has completed the eighty-second adhyāya of the Udyoga Parva, specifically within the Bhagavad-yāna section, and within the Draupadī–Kṛṣṇa conversation.
